Cape Agri Holdings said on Monday that phytosanitary protocols have been finalised for citrus exports to two additional Asian markets, with shipments expected to begin in the coming season.
According to the company, the agreements follow a multi-year technical process involving industry bodies and plant health authorities in both destination markets.
Cape Agri Holdings said it expects the new markets to absorb a modest share of its export volumes in the first season, with scope to grow as cold treatment capacity expands. The company did not provide volume forecasts.
