Sandton Capital raises R1.8bn for infrastructure debt fund

The fund reached first close with commitments from local pension funds, the manager said.

Sandton Capital said it has reached first close on an infrastructure debt fund with R1.8bn in commitments, primarily from local pension funds.

According to the manager, the fund will lend to mid-sized energy, water and logistics projects. It said it expects to reach final close within twelve months.

Sandton Capital said the fund has already approved its first two transactions, without naming them.
