Highveld Energy announced on Tuesday that its 140MW solar facility in Mpumalanga has reached commercial operation, six weeks ahead of the scheduled date.
The company said the plant is contracted under a 20-year power purchase agreement. According to the announcement, construction was completed without a lost-time injury.
Highveld Energy said the facility brings its total operational generation capacity to 610MW. The company did not disclose the project cost.
