OFM presenter Shandor Potgieter has been recognised in the Radio and Journalism category at the South African 40 Under 40 Awards 2026, according to a statement from the station published on Bizcommunity.
The category recognises people under 40 who are making a meaningful contribution to broadcasting, journalism and the wider media industry. More broadly, the awards celebrate emerging leaders and influential young professionals across a range of industries; in the media category they cover radio presenters, journalists, media entrepreneurs and content creators.
“We are incredibly proud of Shandor and this outstanding recognition,” said Nick Efstathiou, CEO of Central Media Group. “His work consistently demonstrates the values we believe in, quality storytelling and a genuine dedication to serving communities.”
Anchen Lintvelt, OFM’s sales and marketing manager, called the award an acknowledgement of Potgieter’s role as an ambassador for both the station and the region. “He is a true brand ambassador for OFM and central South Africa,” she said. Both comments are statements from the station’s own management.
OFM describes itself as central South Africa’s premier commercial radio station, with a broadcast footprint across the Free State, Northern Cape, southern Gauteng and North West. Potgieter had been nominated for the same award in August.
